A Southern Artist Paints Monhegan
These paintings are a result of a visit to Monhegan Island off the coast of Maine. Monhegan is called The Island for Artists. It is a small island about ten miles out from Port Clyde. It's size is approximately one mile wide by about two miles in length. It has spectacular high cliffs on the east coast called headlands and on the west coast is the placid lowlands. In between is the Cathedrals--a beautiful dense forest of tall pines, shrubs and other trees. This is truly the artists' island because with the everchanging weather of either fog, rain, drizzle or sunshine, you can stand in one spot and turn in any direction and see a scene you want to paint. It is wonderful--and exciting.

The Four Seasons Group
These four watercolors were painted plein air during four seasons of the year. I wanted to capture the mood and light of the seasons in a "loose" manner at the same particular location. They are not sold individually, only as a part of The Four Seasons Group.
